Giardia
As a breeder of over 15 years there is always one thing you're going to battle when raising and caring for dogs, horses, cows - it really doesn't matter the type of animal. We are very open and honest about it. So, for our program specifically,
we do absolutely see Giardia pop up here and there.
We let our puppies be puppies and explore the real world outside. our puppies aren't solely raised on concrete or in a glass box. They are exposed to being outside for short periods of time, some interact with our other animals here on the ranch. With this type of exposure does open us up to seeing giardia pop up no matter how Indepth our worming protocols and preventions - such as: fenbendazole/ metronidazole or Secnidazole the newest giardia wormer on the market.

Giardia can be found anywhere there is a wet environment and Birds. Families should be knowledgeable on signs of a true giardia issue and treat when you see THREE CONSECUTIVE BOUGHTS OF MUCUSY DIARHEA- we are also always here for support if families have questions.
If you're getting any kind of shaggy - floppy eared new addition, it should be an expectation that Ear infections are common territory.
This is our other issue we see perodically. With how much we bathe our puppies and puppies going outside (in the winters especially) then coming back into a warm home is breeding ground for yeast.
Using drying ear agent cleaners and drying under their ear to completeness are two ways to prevent ear infections to the best of any ones ability​​ so the fortunate thing is, Ear infections are easily treated once an issue is presented.

Vaccination info
It is important to know that most EVERY puppy leaving the ranch is not fully vaccinated UNLESS you are doing 2 FULL sessions of extended training or purchasing a puppy/dog over 16 weeks of age.

What does this mean for me?
Upon pick up of your puppy, it is essential for their health that they are NOT exposed to the outside world until after their 3rd combination vaccine is completed by 16 weeks of age. Essentially, they need to be home quarantined during this time. If you have friends with dogs, a playdate at another home is fine as long as other dogs are fully vaccinated and they aren't avid dog park go-ers.

Please carry your puppy into the vet and do not put them on the ground there until they have had their 3rd vaccine. Exam table only.

For travelers picking up--this means NO potty breaks on the way home, if for some reason the puppy cant make it...we suggest you stop at an off the beaten path area that is not high human/pet trafficked. NO rest areas, dog parks, airports, etc. Please visit the get ready tab for safe traveling suggestions.
